The Auguste Clown Makeup can either have the basic white face or flesh tones with white/color accents around the eyes and lips.

Clowns are comedic performers recognized by their colorful wigs, extremely large shoes, outlandish facial make-up and multicolored costumes. Clowns entertain by performing over the top often physical performances that make fun of everyday situations. The history of the clown can be dated back to ancient Egypt where pygmies where used to as court fools for the Pharaoh.
There are three types of clowns the White Face, Auguste and Tramp Hobo. The White Face clown traditional make up comprises of a white face with highlighted facial features, usually around the mouth and nose. The Auguste clown is a lower status of the traditional white face and is usually characterized by his foolery and over exaggerated facial expressions. Then there is the Tramp/Hobo who traditionally only wears white make up around the eyes and mouth.
There are many things to be said about a wicked clown’s makeup but boring is never one of them. Once that clown paste make up is on, the wicked jokester comes out. Besides fear, the makeup is important in developing the character of a clown and is an important key to the art of clowning. Clown makeup is as unique and personal to the individual clown character as fingerprints are to each person to even having an owned and “registered” clown makeup look.
